Kalóz Records
Tucked away in Budapest’s 6th district, Kalóz Records is a charming and friendly little record shop that’s made a big international impression — it was even featured in the Financial Times’ list of the world’s best record stores.
Though compact in size, Kalóz offers a huge and diverse selection of second-hand records, ranging from vintage Hungarian prog rock to techno, jazz, classical Indian rāgas, and much more. There’s also a special section of records from behind the Iron Curtain, making it a true crate digger’s paradise.
There aren’t individual listening stations, but the helpful staff is happy to spin anything you’re curious about.

Deep Record Store
Established in 1999 and located at Aradi utca 22, Deep is Budapest’s essential spot for electronic music lovers. With one of the largest selections in town, the store specializes in brand-new vinyl releases—house, techno, drum & bass, hip‑hop and deep electronica—plus plenty of hip-hop, pop, world music, jazz and occasional rarities.
Expect to spend hours digging through their stacks—whether you’re a DJ hunting for the latest pressings or a vinyl collector after something fresh. The staff are genre experts and offer great recommendations.

Tucked away just steps from Budapest’s iconic St. Stephen’s Basilica, Wave Records is the city’s oldest and most compact record store — a true downtown gem for crate diggers and collectors alike. Tiny in size, but packed wall-to-wall with vinyl — both new and used records, covering everything from rock and alternative to punk, jazz, metal, and electronic.
